I have been teaching in KPMIM for 4 semesters. This coming July-Dec 2010 will be my 5th semester in here. I've been teaching Business Communication for 2 years. It's a prerequisite subject where you can't further to the next level until you pass the lower level of the subject. Experience had shown me that teaching this subject is not easy. The expectation of the subject is too high because of the subject title - BUSINESS.
Last semester, one of my students had asked about what is "Business Communication" really is? Well actually, Business Communication is not really about the business theory as what some Business students learn in Bachelor/Diploma in Business Studies. The word "Communication" defines that the core of the subject is about communication and of course, in business world.  That is why the content of the subject is about meeting a business person, communicate with a visitor, handling a meeting, business documentations such as business letters, memos, email, minutes of meeting and etc.
The purpose of learning this subject is to provide the students with the real world situation where after obtaining a diploma, they would look for a job. This is where the Business Communication applied. Obtaining a CGPA of 3.90 without excellent communication skills is nothing. Therefore, all assessments of the subject is about speaking skills : Individual speaking skills, pair speaking skill, handling a meeting, and product presentation. Luckily, if the students have known and dig the subject very well, they would score the subject.
One of my students (2 semesters ago) had also asked me of why we should learn the grammar again even though it's a business subject. I admit that this student is very good in speaking skills but not really good in writing and of course the grammar. My answer is, every language in this world has its own grammar. Even the Bahasa Melayu with "tatabahasa", Arabic with "nahu", English with the "grammar", and etc. A good communication will look perfect with a good grammar. You will look stupid when you speak with a broken grammar (not to mention the meaning of the sentence might be different when you speak in wrong grammar). So, to present better in front of your client or colleague, you must speak with good grammar.
Business Communication provides the students a knowledge of preparing to enter a world of business. Having skills in writing business documentations, and good communication skills might give advantage to the students from being jobless. So, learn the subject with joy and feel free to ask your lecturer to improve yourself.

Some say love is blind. How blind it is? Why do they say that the love is blind? It's not the love's fault, I guess. It's the person in love's fault for making it blind. We don't what to choose, why we pick that person or how did we fall in love with the person. All we know is, we just fall in love with her/him. It takes a minute to fall in love with someone, but it might take years to get to know her/him. Therefore, I would prefer to say that love is war. Why?
It's because we fight for love. Once we get and catch a love in our hand, we tend to protect it from others. We fight the jealousy, the envy, the 3rd party, and etc. We could do anything to protect our love. We fight our feeling not to sulk so much so that the person we love feels happy. We are sulking for everything. We want the person we love to comfort us, caress us, but we don't know how to tell her/him to do so. And we keep the feeling bottled inside. But, one day we regret for not telling it to the person.
Love is a war. We against ourselves, we against our feeling, we against the world...
This powerpoint presentation is uploaded just for the sake of fulfilling my assignment requirement. So, if you find it not really interesting, I'd like to say sorry in advance. And you may find that the videos could not be played. This is due to the conversion of the format from powerpoint that has been shared to Google Doc and I really don't know how to edit the video to allow it to play again....
MPP has just announced that registration day for senior students is on 12 of July 2010. Come to the college with your mind set to study hard for your new semester. Have fun in college and set your goal for the new semester.
Good Luck, dear students...
New semester is going to start soon. As usual, senior students get ready to attack the registration counter during subject registration day. Some prefer to choose a class set with certain set of lecturers. Students tend to pick a class which contains lecturers that converse slowly, kind, soft, not easy to be angry and etc. This kind of attitude is called bias towards the lecturer. Some who could not pick that kind of lecturer and end up with entering the strict-lecturer's class might whining again for the whole semester of that kind of lecturers.
Lately, (before semester ends) students are likely to whining on accommodation issue since there were rumous that there is not enough space to fit in all students in those 3 blocks. The MPPs were blamed for late respond towards the issue and the Admin that failed to take any action or make any decision. It is not easy to make such a big decision since the Admin has to think in so many point of view. There are good and bad for every single thing or decision that you have to make. Therefore, as a student, you can't simply blame others.

Putting out students from college without parental guidance from lecturers and mentors might lead to a very complex case and negative issues. The Admin has to face the consequences. But....letting all of the students to stay inside the college is impossible because there is not enough room for everyone since there are around 200 students more to coming in.
Good Day, Readers!

This blog is actually created for the purpose of completing assignment KPT 5033. So, if you should ever found/read something that might not come to your interest, I hope you could understand. Besides, this is just one of the ways to say what I'd like to say and instead of shout it out loud, it's better if I express those words via letters in this blog.
As one of the lecturers in KPMIM, there are lots of things that I'd like to express but sometimes I couldn't because of some obstacles (orang melayu kata "kekangan"). So, here we go...my first entry to the blog. Hope you enjoy reading this blog no matter who you are (a family, relatives, colleagues, friends, students or just an ordinary public..hehs)

Enjoy your reading and explore my world.
